The best is yet come!!
Haggai 2:9
….the glory of the latter house shall be greater than that of the former

When you say “the best is yet to come” it means God has done great things for those of previous generations including those recorded in scripture. Specifically, the blessings and favor God has showered on His own. But God is a God of increase and He is going to do greater things than He did before.

The verse above is another way of saying “the best is yet to come”, that is, “the glory of the latter house (the blessings of the present generation) will be greater than that of the former( previous generations).

The bible says in Ephesians 3:20 that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ever ask or think….

God is “Jehovah Overdo”, He always does more than we expect.

Matthew 5:12
Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute……for great is your reward in heaven

This verse from the new testament highlights another dimension of the best is yet to come.

That is, those of us who are being ridiculed and oppressed for promoting the gospel as it is will be greatly rewarded.

Scripture says a time is coming and is now here when:

……men will be lovers of themselves rather than God.

People seek to glorify ( make themselves great) themselves rather than God
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to myself?
1. Always seek to glorify God in all you do

Prayer
Let this song be your confession and prayer

All that I am oh Lord
Or ever hope to be
I owe it all
Yes all to you my Lord.

You took a lump of shapeless clay
And moulded me to what I am today
I’m so glad you did
Amen
