Study the word thoroughly
Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and thou shalt have good success.
According to the verse above, all Christians and children of God should study the bible or word of God thoroughly. We are not only to read it but we should memorize it well, think of how to apply it to our lives, and make sure we obey all that is written in it. There is a reward attached to obeying the word- we will prosper and have good success.
2 Timothy 2:15
says
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
A similar message is given in 2Timothy. If we want to gain God’s approval, we need to study the word thoroughly and apply it to our life.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Make sure you have your morning devotion each day.
2. Set additional time apart, daily, or weekly to do a detailed study of the word. You could do a book study- study a book in the bible. Or you can do a topic study – study what the word says about faith, healing, etc.
3. Summarize and write what you study so you can memorize it and think about how to apply it to your life.
4. Determine and ensure that you obey what the word says.
Prayer
Loving Father, thank you for the provision you made in your word for me. Help me to study and apply your word to my life. Amen.
