Speak, Lord!!!
1 Samuel 3:10
…….speak Lord for thy servant heareth

The phrase ” Speak , Lord” presupposes that you have an issue you having been asking God for direction. And you are waiting for direction from His word or through a move of the Spirit of God that gives you confirmation on what step to take.

The verse above is an excerpt from the story of how the Prophet Samuel was called into ministry.

He was just a little boy, one night as he sleeps, he hears an audible voice call his name Samuel, Samuel. He was just a little boy, he did not know much about God.

His mother Hannah had put him in the care of the Priest Eli to teach him how to be used of God. So when he hears the voice, he runs to Eli, you called , he said no I did not call. This happens three times and the Priest realized that it might be the Lord calling Him. So he says, when he calls again say, speak Lord, for thy servant heareth. He does that and the Lord speaks to him and he begins his ministry.

We might not be fortunate to hear the voice of God clearly like the Prophet Samuel did. But God still speaks through his word, the Prophets of today and situations in our lives. We need to be sensitive to the voice of God

Scripture says in Isaiah 6:8 that

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying, who shall I send and who will go for us? Then I answered and said Here I am, send me( paraphrased)

This was the call of the Prophet Isaiah. God still calls each of us in different ways

– You may have a talent to play an instrument so well or sing. At church you are being asked constantly to play or sing, that is your calling

– Or you are good at making friends and helping people. When your friends need help they always come to you. That is your calling

– Or you love to read, share the word of God and live according to the directions in the bible. Some friends call you , Pastor. That is your calling

John 14:6

I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me

This verse from the bible points to our Lord Jesus as the mediator between man ( humans) and God

Accept the gift of salvation today ( Romans 10:9-10) and dedicate your life to responding to the call of God

1. Pray for grace and strength to obey God’s commands always.
