Something more than gold!!
Psalm 19:10
More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter
even than honey…..
“Something more than gold” means something more costly and worth more than gold. Something more durable and more beautiful or shines more than gold.
In the verse above the Psalmist says the word of God ( this is stated in verses before verse 10) is to be desired or sought after more than gold. Why?
Because it is even more sweeter than honey as it is able to transform our lives through the power of God.
Scripture also says in Psalm 119
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path
Meaning, the promises, directions and commands God gives in His word guides and leads us to success through the power of God.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two- edged sword…
This verse from the new testament also throws more light on the fact that the word of God contains amazing power.
It is sharp and goes deep into our being to transform us by the power of God demonstrated through our Lord’s Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Accept the gift of salvation now and receive something worth more than gold.
