Something more than gold!!!
Psalm 119:72
The law of thy mouth is better unto me thousands of gold and silver.
Gold is a previous metal with several attributes and uses
– It is a safe- haven asset
– It can be used as a store of value or wealth
– It can be used for jewellery and other accessories etc.
Gold can be used for all the things listed above because it is durable, hardly loses its value and very attractive ( shines brightly)
When you say
” Something more than gold” it means God is worth much more than gold or wealth. Why?
In spite of all its attributes and uses, gold can be destroyed but God is immortal, has no beginning and no ending. He lives forever and His words will never pass away. That is why the Psalmist in the verse above says God’s word is worth much more than thousands of gold and silver.
Scripture also says in Matthew 24:35 that
Heaven and earth will pass away but His word remains forever.
Meaning, it safe to put your trust in God and His word because they will remain forever.
1 Peter 1:7
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than that of gold that perisheth, though it be tried in fire, might be found unto the praise and honor and glory….
This verse from the new testament highlights the fact that our faith is also worth more than gold.
You cannot go wrong when you put all your trust in God and His word by faith.
