Shepherd of my soul!!
Psalm 23:1
The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want.

God is the “Shepherd of our soul” or keeper of our soul. He takes care of the condition of the inner man.

According to the verse above, if God is the keeper of our soul, our souls are safe and inner man will have everything it needs.

Scripture says in Psalm 51:17 that

God desires a broken and contrite heart.

Meaning, God loves a truly repentant person. Who is willing to turn away completely from his/her sin and live according to God’s commands after accepting the gift of salvation.

Then the Lord becomes the shepherd of your soul providing all your soul needs and making it fit to enter heaven

Matthew 6:13
…. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom the power and the glory forever and ever.

This verse from the new testament shows us how to ensure that the Lord is the keeper of our soul. What do we do?

We must pray for grace and strength to remain faithful to God.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Give the Lord full control of your life by accepting the gift of salvation.

I give you full control
Wherever you may lead
I will go
I have made the choice
To listen for your voice
Wherever you may lead
I will go
Be it in a quite pasture
Or by a gentle stream
The shepherd of my soul
Will be my guide
Should I face a mighty mountain
Or a valley dark and deep
The shepherd of my soul
Will be my guide
