Set me on fire
Psalm 39:3
My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue.
When you ask God to set you on fire, it is likely that you want God to increase your zeal and enthusiasm for doing His work or responding to His call.
The Psalmist in the verse above is talking about a fire or zeal God placed in his heart. Have you lost your zeal?
Psalm 119:88
Quicken me after thy loving kindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
Another translation of the verse above replaces the word “quicken” with “revive” meaning, bring back to life or restore strength.
God can do all the above, identify your need and make the appropriate request.
Romans 12:11
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.
To be slothful is to be lazy. The Apostle Paul trying to advise us not to be lazy or slow in doing the work of God.
You should always have the attitude that it is a great thing to serve the Lord. Lay aside every weight and hindrance and serve the Lord with gladness. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray for God to fill you with zeal and enthusiasm to serve Him
Prayer
Let this song be your prayer
Set me on fire Oh Lord
I want to live my life to please you
In every way
Set me on fire once more
So that the world may watch me burn for you
Amen
