Sanctify yourselves!!
Joshua 3:5
Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow I will do wonders among you

“Sanctify yourselves” means purify yourselves, move away from sin. So that you can set yourself apart for the work of God.

That was the message Joshua gave the people of Israel from the verse above. It was a message from God

Meaning, for God to move mightily in our midst, (perform miracles like healing the sick, setting captives free etc.) We need to purify ourselves. Not in the way that was done in the old testament.

Sacrificing lambs and bull but by pleading the blood of Jesus over our lives

1 John 1:9 says

If we confess our sins , He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Therefore, to sanctify ourselves we need to confess our sins, and ask for forgiveness from the Lamb of God ( Jesus) who was slain for our redemption.

John 4: 24
God is Spirit and those that worship Him. Must worship Him in spirit and in truth

This verse from the new testament tells us the reason why we need to sanctify ourselves.

So that we can serve the Lord genuinely and sincerely ( in truth). Then our God can perform wonders ( miracles) in our midst.

1. Trust in God and do what is right
