Rejoice in the Lord!!
Habakkuk 3:17-18
Though the fig tree fails to blossom and no fruit be on the vine……Yet I will rejoice in you my Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation

The Oxford English Mini- Dictionary defines rejoice as to feel joy or great delight. “Rejoice in the Lord” then is to delight in the Lord or find great joy in doing the will of the Lord.

In the passage above, the Prophet Habakkuk says even though everything around him looks gloomy, he will rejoice in the Lord.
Why?

He is the God of his salvation. The God who redeemed him from sin and from the grip of the evil one. If God gave him salvation from sin and the evil one then He can deliver him from any other thing.

Scripture also says in Acts 4:12 that

There is salvation in no one else but Jesus….

Therefore if we have Jesus, we need to rejoice because, He can deliver us from anything

Philippians 4:4-5
Rejoice in the Lord alway, again I say rejoice.
Let all men know your forbearance.

This passage from the new testament also admonishes us to rejoice in the Lord because it proves to others that with Jesus you can even rejoice in bad times ( let all men know your forbearance)

This is a great testimony that can draw others to Christ.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray for grace and strength to rejoice in the Lord even in bad times.

2. Determine in your heart to believe at all times that “there is a silver lining behind every cloud”
