Topic: God our sufficiency
Our sufficiency is from God
Psalm 27:13-14
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait I say on the Lord.
Sometimes we are hit with several challenges and problems and we feel like there is no hope. There is nothing we can do to save the situation.
The Psalmist found himself in a similar situation. He said he would have fainteth or given up all hope. However, he believed without any doubt that God could resolve the problems. God can make the impossible, possible when we wait on Him. Waiting on God involves turning over our problems to God in prayer and trusting that He will make a way even when everything around us looks hopeless.
2 Corinthians 3:5
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.
Waiting on God also requires that we trust not in our own wisdom and abilities. Instead we accept our weakness and believe that the grace of God is sufficient for us (2 Çorinthians 12:9-10)
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. The first thing to do when you are in trouble is to turn to God in prayer.
2. When you pray, wait patiently for God to answer your prayer.
3. As you wait for the answer, continue to praise and thank God for the victory.
Prayer
God of miracles , signs and wonders. I praise you because you are great and greatly to be praised. Help me to keep in mind at times that my sufficiency is of you. Amen.
