Our God is full of compassion
Psalm 119:77
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
“Tender mercy” in the King James version of the Bible is translated in contemporary translations as “compassion”
To have compassion is to feel another’s need or pain so much that you are moved to do something to help.
It was compassion that moved God to plan for the redemption and salvation of mankind.
The compassion of God moves Him to shield us from the evil devises and plans of the enemy.
James 5:11
Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
The verse above also confirms that the Lord is full of tender mercy or compassion.
It is wrong to assume that your sin is so great that God cannot pardon you. 1John 1:9 says
Once we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Never allow guilt to destroy your relationship with God.
2. Confess your sin as soon as you become conscious of it
Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song
Mercy said no
I am never gonna let you go
I will never let you slip away
You don’t have to be afraid
Mercy said no
Sin will never take control
Life and death stood face to face
Darkness trying to steal my joy away
Mercy said no
Amen
