Open my eyes Lord
Psalm 119:18
Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things in thy law

When you say, “Open my eyes Lord” it means , it is possible, to have your natural or physical eyes open and not see certain things.

In the verse above, the Psalmist is asking God to open his eyes to see the wondrous things or deeper messages presented by the bible.

There is a verse in the bible, Jeremiah 5:21 that says:
…and without understanding; which have eyes and see not, which have ears, and hear not.

Here the Prophet Jeremiah was talking to the people of Israel who were still disobeying God, in spite of all that He had done for them.

Sometimes we also behave like the Israelites God has done so much for us:
– He has given us life
– He has given us the gift of salvation
– He given us the good things of life
Yet when we need help, we look elsewhere. Our eyes are closed to the fact that it is God that has made us what we are.

Let’s learn to pray each morning for God to open our eyes to see all He presents to us in His word about Himself and what He expects us to do.

Acts 26:18
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sin, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me

Apart from seeing clearly what the bible tells us, in the verse above, we are given another dimension.

We need to be able to see through the subtle ways the evil one presents wrong things to us as the truth from God.

We also have to be able to see when we go wrong so we can ask for forgiveness of sins.

Ask God to open your eyes.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray each morning for God to open your eyes to see clearly and understand the messages He presents to us in His word.
