One thing is necessary ( Needful)
Psalm 27:4
One thing have I asked of the Lord and that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life……

One thing is necessary (needful) means there is one thing that is most important. If you have the most important thing or if you do the essential thing all others will be added.

The verse above says that most important thing is dwelling in the house of the Lord all the days of your life. Or dedicating your life to serve God. You praise and worship Him as you have to and you obey all His commands

Matthew 6:33 says
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

This verse from the new testament gives a similar message as the verse quoted above, Psalm 27:4.

Luke 10:42-43
…….one thing is needful and Mary has chosen that…..

In this passage from the new the new testament, Jesus emphasizes and confirms that the most important thing is staying in the presence of God studying His word and praying and obeying His commands.

If you want to excel or prosper and have good success then obey the Lord’s commands (Joshua 1:8)

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Learn to dwell in the Lord’s presence and serve Him all the days of your life.
