Oh death where is thy sting? [April 2,2021 ]
Oh death where is thy sting?
Psalm 49:15
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for He shall receive me .
Today is Good Friday, the day set apart in many countries to celebrate or remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus.
Some people call it dark or black Friday to describe the worst thing done to an innocent man who knew no sin. He was tortured to death.
1 Corinthians 15:55-56
O death, where is thy sting? I grave where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
We need not give this Friday all the gloomy names we can think of because His death brought us victory over death and great hope for the future.
There is no need to mourn but to thank and praise God for the victory He gave us through Christ’s death. We now have hope for eternal life with God in heaven after Christ comes back.
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Believe that as the bible says in 1 Corinthians 15, even if you die, you have hope of being raised from the dead and living forever with God in heaven.
2. This hope is for only Christians so be sure you are born again in Christ.
Prayer
Immortal, invincible God, receive all the praise and adoration you deserve. Help me to believe in you at all times. Amen.
