My shield and buckler
Psalm 91:4
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler

The Lord is our defender, strength and protector, meaning the Lord is our shield and buckler.

In the verse above, the Psalmist says the Lord protects us with His feathers and wings. Implying that, the Lord completely surrounds us leaving no room for any enemy to penetrate and harm us.

Scripture says in Psalm 91:4 that

Hide me in the shadow of your wings and preserve me from trouble…..(paraphrased)

This should be our prayer as christians every morning before we leave home.

Matthew 6:26
Behold, the fowls of the air: for they sow not neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.Are ye not much better than they?

This verse from the new testament gives an illustration to confirm that the Lord indeed is the best defender and protector.

It says if God preserves even the birds of the air who can do nothing much in terms of providing, food and shelter for themselves then we humans made in His image have nothing to worry about.

He will bless the works of our hands and make sure we are well catered for.

1. Rely on God for everything you need. Call on Him through prayer if you need help.
