Lift His Name Higher!!
Psalm 145:1
I will extol thee, my God O King and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
A common theme with most worship songs is the refrain, “we lift your name higher”, ” lift His name up”etc. The idea is to exalt and extol the name of the Lord.
In the verse above the Psalmist says “I will extol you” meaning, I will praise you enthusiastically.
Scripture also says in Psalm 150:6 that
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.
This is a command, the Psalmist means we all have to or ought to praise God for who He is and for the many blessings He has showered on us.
Philippians 2:9-10
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the mention of the name Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.
This verse from the new testament reminds us once again that we have to lift up the name of the Lord or we ought to lift His name higher because God has given Him that right and honor.
As you perform your duties throughout the day, remember to lift His name higher by praising the Lord enthusiastically.
God be with you
