God keeps His word
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, God caused the Prophet Isaiah to announce to His people that a special or great son would be born. He did not give much information on the woman who would conceive the child or how conception will take place. God has given so many promises in the bible for His children. We do not have to know how these promises and blessings would be provided, we only have to claim them by faith in Jesus name.
Matthew 1:22-23
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet saying, Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us.
Years after the prophecy in Isaiah was given, God sends an angel to Mary telling her the assignment and how God was going to make the virgin birth possible. The lesson we can lean from these verses(from Isaiah and Matthew) is that , once God has given a promise, it does matter how impossible it sounds or how long it takes. He will keep His word.
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Never forget or doubt that God keeps His word no matter how much it would cost Him.
2. Learn to wait patiently for God to fulfill His promise in your life. Do not grumble or complain as you wait. Keep thanking and praising Him.
3. He will keep His word.
Prayer
Dear God, thank you for the gift of your Son and the salvation He brought us. Help me to trust you at all times for all things. Amen.
