Jehovah-Nissi
Exodus 17: 15
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi
Jehovah-nissi means the Lord our banner. The verse above was taken from a story. The Israelites had to fight the Amalekites. When Moses lifted his hands, the Israelites prevailed or took the lead in the battle and when he put his hands down they the Amalekites prevailed. So Moses had to hold his hands up throughout the battle. When he got tired Aaron and Hur held his hands up.
The Israelites eventually won the battle and Moses named the place Jehovah-nissi to remind them of the day the Lord caused them to win in an exceptional way.
Jehovah our God still has the power to make you prevail in battles you face. Surrender your life to Him and He will make you excel in all you do.
Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Whatever battle you encounter, do not feel that it is a disgrace to humble yourself before God and follow His instructions given in the bible.
Some people may mock you but endure whatever hardship you face to the end and God will exalt you in His time.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says God makes all things beautiful in His time.
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. 1 Peter 5:6 says
Humble yourself under the mighty arm of God and in due time He will lift you up (like a banner)
Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song
Lord please show me everyday
As you are teaching me your way
That you do just what you say
In your time
Amen
