Jehovah Nissi
Exodus 17:15
Moses built an altar and called the name of it Jehovah Nissi.

Jehovah Nissi means – The Lord is my refuge, banner.

The storms and dangers in life demands that every human being has a refuge or shelter from the storm.

Moses and the Israelites built an altar and named the place Jehovah Nissi because the Lord delivered them.

Psalm 46:1 says

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble.

Whenever we need help of any kind, we can be sure that God will come to our aid once we call on Him and trust Him completely.

Matthew 6:13
And lead us not into temptation , but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever

This verse from the new testament is an excerpt from our Lord’s, prayer.

1 Peter 5:8 says

Be sober, vigilant for your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

According to the verse from 1 Peter, it is important that we pray daily like the verse above says for the Lord to deliver us from evil.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray daily for deliverance from evil

Ye soldiers of the cross
Lift high His royal banner
It must not suffer loss

His army shall He lead
Till every foe He’s vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed
