I pray they may be one
Genesis 4:9
And the Lord said to Cain, ” Where is your brother Abel..” And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper..?

It is difficult for humans to live as one because we have different nationalities, different languages, different culture, different temperaments etc. Apart from the differences mentioned above we are also very selfish.

Everyone wants the best for himself/ herself and family. Oneness however is a unique characteristic of the Godhead. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost/Spirit.

Their oneness is such that you cannot separate them in anyway. They are intertwined. Jesus said in John 10:30 that

I and the Father are one.

In the verse above, the Lord gives Cain the first test of the oneness He expects from us. Where is your brother? Cain says….Am I my brother’s keeper?

God expects us to be our brother’s keeper. He expects us to be one as christians. Our oneness which is a unique sign of the Godhead proves that He has sent us.

We should not be divided by religious denominations or differences in worship and beliefs. We should be one

John 17:23
I am in them and you are in me, so that they may be made completely one, that the world may know you have sent me and have loved them as you have loved me

This verse from the new testament confirms the explanations given above.

Let us learn to put our differences aside and work together as one big body of Christ ( church) and spread the gospel.
