I can’t go back!!
Nahum1:9
..the Lord will put an utter end to it, affliction will not come a second time

The Christian life is meant to be lived in one direction- forward. We are not to consider going back to our old lives because of challenges in our lives or reconsider the decision to dedicating our lives to serve God.

The main example given in the bible on this issue is Lot’s wife who looked back ( to perhaps take a last look at the wealth and life she was leaving behind) and was turned into a pillar of salt- destroyed ( Genesis 19:26)

The verse above says “affliction” or old times of pain and sorrow, will not be repeated in our lives if we put our trust in God.

The songwriter, William McDowell said

I won’t go back
I can’t go back….
To what?

The old life he knew after he had been changed by the presence of God.

Let this be our prayer and ultimate desire too

John8:36
If the Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed.

This verse from the new testament says if Jesus shall set you free by

Healing, freeing and delivering you then you are free indeed.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Do not look back, move forward on a daily basis in your service to God and man as an ambassador of Christ
