I am blessed [April 8,2022 ]
I am blessed
Deuteronomy 28:6
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out
To be blessed is to receive lots of favor from God. The verse above is one of the blessings or favors those who obey the Lord’s commands receive.
I came across a piece of writing some time ago whilst I was in school and it made a deep impression on my life.
It says:
I asked God for strength that I may achieve
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey
I asked God for all things
That I might enjoy life
I was given life
That I might enjoy all things
I had nothing I asked for
But everything I hoped for
I am among all men
The most richly blessed
The writing above confirms the fact that “God knows best”. Sometimes, we may not receive the desired answers to our prayers because we do not know what we really need. God gives us the best answer for every situation.
Like the writer you may not always receive what you ask God for. But when you look back and assess your life you will realize that you are blessed because God gave you the best at every point in time.
Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God
The verse above is part of what is usually referred to as “the beatitudes”. They all point to the fact that we remain blessed once we obey the Lord’s commands.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Consider yourself blessed because you are a child of God or you have accepted the gift of salvation
2. Thank God for all His blessings

Thank you Lord that I am blessed each day because of your loving kindness.
