How do you define love?
Exodus 20:2
I am the Lord thy God who brought you out of bondage in the land of Egypt. Have no other gods besides me

Love as defined in Christianity is a command. The bible says:

…love the Lord your God with all thy heart, and with all thy mind and with all thy soul. And your neighbor as yourself.

The verse above defines how we can love God – by having no other gods apart from Him

This shows that we love God with all our heart mind and soul.

1 Corinthians 13:1
If I speak in the tongues of men, or I speak in the tongues of angels but I do have love, I am nothing. I am like a noisy gong or a clunking cymbal.

This verse from the bible as well as all other verses in 1 Corinthians 13 describes agape love or biblical love.

Love is being patient and kind
Not being jealous or boastful
Not being arrogant or rude
Not insisting on its own way
Love bears all things.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Learn to love the way God desires as described in 1 Corinthians 13.

Think of the words of this song

And my body to be burnt
But if I do not have love

Love is never arrogant or rude
Not insisting on its own
Love bears all things
