He is my fortress!!
Psalm 91:1
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty….

When you say “He is my fortress” you are trying to say that despite the absence of fortified walls, you are safe because of God.

The verse above says that those who abide or stay continuously in the presence of God ( secret place of the Most High) are well protected ( shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty)

Scripture also says in Proverbs 18:10 that

The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are safe

This verse also confirms that the Lord is our fortress and we are safe if we surrender our lives to Him by accepting the gift of salvation.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

This verse from the new testament says we can do all things even what seems impossible if we rely on the strength of God.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Rely on God for strength and protection.
