Daily Word

He came not to judge but to save
Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the righteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon

One of the dictionary meanings of the word “judge” is to form an opinion or draw a conclusion about an issue or person.

To save is to deliver from danger or harm. It also means to obtain someone’s freedom from an oppressor by paying a price.

Jesus came not to condemn us but to deliver us from the grip of the evil one.

The verse quoted above says when we return to the Lord or turn to the Lord, He will have mercy upon us and pardon us abundantly.

John 12:47
And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

This verse from the new testament re-emphasizes what was explained above.

Do not feel that you do not deserve the mercy and pardon of the Lord because you have sinned. Come to the Lord just as you are and He will accept you, cleanse you and make you a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Always remember to turn to the Lord in your time of need. He will come and save you.

Prayer
Let this hymn be your prayer
Just as I am
Without one plea
But that thy blood was shed for me
And that blood bids me
Come to thee
Oh lamb of God
I come, I come
Amen
