God knows the way
Genesis 12:1
…….leave your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.

The verse above is the call Abraham received from God. He was asked to separate himself from his familiar environment and trust God to lead him to the promised land.

That was Abraham’s call, he was asked to leave his familiar environment probably because they did not believe in God.

It does not mean, everyone will be asked to leave his/her familiar environment. The Prophet Samuel, Isaiah and Jeremiah as well as the Apostles were not asked to leave their familiar environment before they could perform.

In fact Jesus asked his disciples to begin their ministry from Jerusalem ( their familiar environment in Acts 1:8) It is important to start from your familiar environment because they know you and can testify of the change in your life.

Another important point to note from the verse is “to a land that I will show you” This phrase confirms that God knows the way.

In order to fulfill our mission as ambassadors of Christ we have to “brighten the corner where we are first” ( start with our familiar environment first) then we can move out to other places as Acts 1:8 says.

Next, we have to learn to hear the voice of the Lord
Isaiah 30:21 says:
Your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, This is the way….

This does not only
mean you will hear a voice. You might also find a verse in the bible that seems to agree with what you want to do in your ministry, or a Prophecy from a man of God or you might have a dream etc.

John 14:6
I am the way the truth and the life. No one cometh to the Father but by me.

This verse from the new testament also confirms that God knows the way. Jesus is the only way. We are to use His example as the blueprint of our ministry as ambassadors of Christ.

1. Study the life and work of Jesus from the bible and follow His example

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain
God is His own interpreter
And He will make it plain
