God has the world in His hands
Psalm 24:1
The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein
The verse above says the whole world and everything in it including human beings belongs to God. Meaning God has full control of everything that happens in the world. Nothing happens without His knowledge.
Job 1:12 says
And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thy hand……
God had to grant Satan permission before he could do anything to Job. This confirms that God has control over everything in the world
Another example can be found in Luke 22:31 where Jesus says
Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you like wheat (paraphrased,)
There is a song that says:
He’s got the whole world in His hands
He’s got the whole world in His hands
He’s got you and me brother in His hands
He’s got you and me sister in His hands
He’s got the whole world in His hands
Just like the song and verses quoted above confirms, God has control over all things, nothing can be done without His consent.
Matthew 10:39
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it
The Message bible translation of this verse above says:
If your first concern is to look after yourself, you will never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look (search)for me, you will find both yourself and Me.
This verse from Matthew 10:39 is a repetition of Matthew 6:33 which says:
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
Put God first in all you do and He shall grant you success.
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. An example of how you can put God first is to:
Take out your tithe first when you receive your salary before planning your budget for the month.
Prayer
Meditate on the words of this hymn
Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise
Amen
