From whence cometh my help [September 23,2021]

Daily Word

From whence cometh my help
Psalm 121:1-2
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth.

There is a song that says
Sometimes in our life
We all have pain
We all have sorrow….
Lean on me
When you are not strong
I will be your friend
I will help you carry on

This song brings out the fact that as humans we would need help at one time or the other. Who do you turn to in the time of trouble?

Jesus our Lord is the only friend we can lean on at all times because He can do all things and has all power. He can supply all our needs ( Psalm 23:1, Philippians 4:19)

There are also christian brethren we can lean on, King David had Jonathan , King Saul’s son. (1 Samuel 20:4)

Ephesians 3:20
Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we may ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us

This verse confirms that God is able to do much much more than we can even imagine in our wildest dreams.

Learn to lean on the Lord at all times.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Have good christian friends you can turn to but let the Lord be your best and closest friend.

Prayer
Let this hymn be your prayer

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and grief to bear
What a priviledge to carry everything to God in prayer
Oh what peace we often forfeit
Oh what needless pain
we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer
Amen
