Find rest in the Lord

Exodus 33:14

And He said,My presence will go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

To find rest is to refrain from labour our exertion. In the verse above, God calls Moses to help deliver the people of Israel from slavery.

Moses feels inefficient to perform the task and is full of fear. He was currently a fugitive in another land because he tried to help one of the Hebrews by killing the slave master.

God assures Him, He will be with him and give him rest or peace from all his anxious thoughts.

This message is also for all children of God. We all have our fears, doubts and anxieties. God is asking us to refrain from the labour of thinking and finding solutions to our challenges. God can and will fix everything if we trust Him.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my time upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.

How do we find rest? By surrendering our life to the Lord and taking up his yoke( God’s commands and directions for a successful life). This is the easy way out of our challenges. Let’s keep trusting God.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. When you feel like worrying and brooding over your problems remember God has promised to give us rest or peace when we trust Him.

Almighty God, I pray that you help me find rest for my soul in Christ the Lord. Amen.
