Fill me with your Spirit Lord [February 26, 2021 ]

Daily Word

Fill me with your Spirit Lord
Exodus 31:3
And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.

There is some controversy over the difference between anointing and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Some believe the two have the same meaning. However, anointing normally means to consecrate or set apart for a special purpose. For example the Prophet Samuel anointed Saul and David to be King. Today, Ministers of God (Priests) and other church leaders and church workers are anointed for service.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit however, involves receiving power from the Holy spirit for a particular task.

For example, in the verse above God filled Bezaleel with the spirit of God to help build the tabernacle. Therefore, whenever we perform a task as Christians (jobs connected with winning souls and working for God) we need to ask God to fill us with His spirit.

Acts 13:9-10
Then Saul, (who was also called Paul) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. And said, Oh full of all subtility and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

According to the verse above, the Apostle Paul was filled with the spirit to perform a particular task. It is important to ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you whenever you have to undertake a christian project or you need direction in your school work, career or any important issues.
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you and give you the power to perform your duties each day.

Prayer
Loving Father, thank you for your love and mercy. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me, break me, melt me, mold me and fill me. Amen.
