Do you lack wisdom?
Ecclesiastes 2:26
For God giveth to a man that is good in His sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner He giveth travail, to gather and to heap up……
Wisdom can be defined as the quality of having experience, knowledge and good judgement. We need wisdom to successfully undertake every human endeavour.
In school, wisdom is needed to be able to rightly understand exam questions and know how to apply what you have been taught.
At the workplace, wisdom is needed to be able to understand your work manual and know how to apply what you have been taught on the job and at school.
The bible says in Proverbs 4:7 that wisdom is the principal thing so get wisdom….. Like King Solomon did, we all need to ask God for wisdom, so that we can fulfill our mission in life and our ministry as christians.
During his reign as king, King Solomon was able to give fair judgement for a difficult case. Two women who lived together had babies. One night one of them accidentally slept on her baby and killed the baby. She quickly exchanged her dead baby for her friend’s baby. The next morning there was a fight and the case was brought before King Solomon. He was able to wisely determine that the living baby belonged to the woman who did not want the baby to be killed.( 1 Kings 3:16-28)
In the same way, if you ask God for wisdom, you can give sound judgement for your problems and that of others.
James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given to him.
The verse above admonishes us to ask God for wisdom and it will be given to us.
When you have wisdom, you will know how to apply the word of God in every situation you find yourself and achieve good success.
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. In times of uncertainty, take a few moments to ask God for wisdom to take the right decision.
Prayer
Lord, give me wisdom to excel in all I do .
Amen.
