Covenant keeping God

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the Lord thy God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations

A covenant is a formal agreement or contract between two people or two parties. The term is usually used for agreements between two individuals. Business agreements are normally called contracts.

God has a covenant with all believers as can be found in Deuteronomy 28. We are to receive blessings and prosperity if we obey all God’s commandments. We will be cursed if we disobey God’s commandments.

This covenant in the old testament is seen in the new testament as well where the commandments are reduced to two major ones which cover the ten given in the old testament. (Matthew 22:37-40).

God is faithful and keeps His covenant, therefore, once you fulfill your part you will receive all the blessings He has promised.

Hebrews 8:6
But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is a mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon a better promise.

Pray each day that God will give you the grace and strength to fulfill your part of the covenant.

1. Study the word to know all the commandments and make it your greatest desire to obey each one of them.
