Courage brother, do not stumble!
Psalm 119:11
Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against you.
The word courage means to be bold enough to take decisions or take actions in the midst of difficult and threatening circumstances.
” Courage brother, do not stumble” means you may be in difficult or threatening circumstances as a christian, but be bold, do the right thing no matter how unpleasant the implications.
In the verse above, the Psalmist says the only way he can stay away from sin is to study the word and keep it in his heart.
The bible says in Luke 22:31-32
Jesus speaking:
,…..Simon, .Satan has asked that he may sift you like wheat. But I have prayed for you. ( Paraphrased)
The devil always wants to get us on his side by proving that we are not faithful christians after all. he did it to Job ( Job 1) , he did it to Jesus ( Matthew 4:1-15) and he it to Simon Peter.
He also does it to all Christians that is why the hymn writer cautions us:
(Courage brother, do not stumble)
Matthew 6:33
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and it’s righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you know( paraphrased)
This verse from the new testament says if we seek the kingdom of God first, accept the gift of salvation and dedicate our lives to spreading the gospel then, God will give us all we desire including praying to deliver us from the evil one’s tricks.

Trust in God and do the right
Simple rule and safest guiding
Inward peace and inward might
Star upon our path abiding

Some will hate you

Some will flatter
Some will slight
Cease from man and look above thee
Trust in God and do the right.
