Daily Word 🇬🇭

Captain of Israel’s hosts!!
Psalm 24:8
Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong in battle and mighty in victory.

The verse above says the Lord is the king of glory. Meaning, He has exceptional powers and characteristics. In addition to this, the Lord wins all His battles.

Today’s topic for devotion also describes the Lord as “Captain of Israel’s hosts” What does this mean? It means the Lord controls or is in-charge of Israel’s army and mighty men of valour. That is why Israel and the children of God never lose a battle.

Sometimes it may seem that all is lost and there is no hope but that is when God steps in.

When you read the story of how David became king in the bible his final coronation as king of Israel came after his life had been threatened by Saul several times, he even had to live in exile before the kingdom became his as God promised

Our Lord Jesus Himself said He would make Peter the rock upon which He will build His church. But Peter denied Jesus three times, he was afraid of affirming his loyalty to Jesus before a young girl ( he lacked courage how could he build a church). But it was this same Peter who stood in front of a large crowd on the day of Pentecost to declare the word of God.

Brethren, your failure today does not mean your story has ended. God makes beauty out of ashes because He is a mighty warrior who can help you win.

Ephesians 3:20
Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ever ask or think of…

This verse from the new testament also says God can do much, much more than we can ever ask or think.

Trust in God always and do what is right.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust in God and do what is right.

Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song

Captain of Israel ‘s hosts and guide
Of all who seek the land above
Beneath thy shadow we abide
The cloud of thy protecting love
Our strength, thy grace
Our rule, thy word
Our end, the glory of the Lord.
Amen.
