Blessed is the man who perseveres under trials
Job 2:10

……what? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Gold is a precious metal that everyone loves. Before it shines and glows it must pass through the fire.

Like gold being refined, God brings out the best in us when going through and overcome trials. There is a lesson we have to learn in every trial.

Job went through a lot of trials, involving losing everything he had as well as suffering from pain in his body. The verse above says, in spite of everything he went through, he did not blame or curse God. Job’s positive attitude helped him endure the trial and come through better than he was before.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

The book of James also emphasizes the need to endure trials or persevere through trials. Not only will you have blessings from God, He will also give you the gift of eternal life.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. In times of trials, do not grumble or complain, neither should you have a pity party(weep and moan).
2. Pray for God to give you the grace and strength to overcome the trial.
3. Pray also that God helps you to learn the lesson from the trial and become a better person.

Prayer
Loving Father, thank you for the gift of this day. Help me to endure and persevere through all my trials. Amen.
