A charge to keep!!!
Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bond up the broken- hearted ……

When you say I have ” A charge to keep” it means you have an important assignment or mission to fulfill.

Like the one given to the Prophet Isaiah to accomplish in the verse above. In actual fact it is the mission for all Christians. We are to make a difference in our world.

Bring peace where there is conflict, joy where there is sadness and liberty where there is bondage.

However, we have so many obstacles and challenges trying to keep us away from this mission.

That is why the Bible says in Hebrews 12:1-2

Since therefore we have so great a cloud of witnesses, ….let us put aside every weight and sin…..Looking to Jesus the author and perfector of our faith , who for the joy that was set before him….

In simple terms, the passage above says

– We have a crowd of witnesses watching us, some need encouragement to run their race too

– Therefore we should lay aside everything that hinders us from obeying the word and doing the will of God

– It is not easy to do this on our own, so we should ask for strength and direction from Jesus

Matthew 28:19-20
Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father……and lo Iam with you always into the end of the world.

This verse in the new testament is almost the same as the verse in Isaiah.

Our charge as christians is to go to all nations and win souls for the Lord. He is with us always to give us the help we need
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust in God and do what is right

And fit it for the sky

To serve the present age

Oh may it all my powers engage to do my Master’s will.
