LOVE THAT DOES NOT FAIL
LOVE THAT DOES NOT FAIL
BY EVANGELINE UNITY ESAABA FOLSON
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Love is one English word that has been misused frequently. People do all kinds of things in the name of love or because of love.
Agape love or the love of God which is unconditional is defined in 1 Corinthians 13:4 -13.
This love according to the NLT version of the bible is
Patient and kind
Not jealous, boastful or proud
Not rude and does not demand its own way
It is not irritable or keep records of wrongs
Does not rejoice in injustice
Never gives up, always hopeful
So faith, hope and love abide but the greatest of all this, is love.
This kind of love never fails as Romans 8:35, 38-9 says.
According to this passage, there is nothing you can think of that can separate us from this love which is the Agape kind of love which God has for all His children. The love of God never fails because:
God is never faithful
Numbers 23:19
1 Thessalonians 5:24
2 corinthians 1:20
God is able
Jeremiah 32:27
Ephesians 3:20
God has plans for our welfare
Jeremiah 29:11
Roman 8:28
God is faithful
Numbers 23:19
God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good.
Humans cannot be faithful always because we have limitations. our strength is limited, our patience is limited, our funds are limited etc. Therefore, we make promises we cannot keep not because new do not want to but because of our limitations. God has no limitation, He has everything in abundance, therefore He can keep all His promises. Furthermore, He cannot lie, He will always do whatever is possible, no matter the cost to keep His promises to His Children. His love does not fail.
1 Thessalonians 5:24
Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.
The verse above confirms that God is faithful and He will do whatever He has promised in His word.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
As already explained, God keeps His promises no matter the cost. The death and resurrection of Jesus was prophesied long before it happened. He knew Jesus would have to suffer so much, but He kept His promise in spite of the cost. He has promised that nothing will separate us from His love and so shall it be.
God is able
Jeremiah 32:27
Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?
According to the verse above, there is nothing too hard for the Lord to do. He has the ability to do all things.
He’s got the whole world in His hands and there is nothing He cannot do unless it is against hos word or His will. His love for us is unconditional.
A songwriter Cece Winans wrote
You can do all things but fail
You can do all things but fail
Cos you never lost a battle and you never will_ _ _ _ _ _ _
His love for you will never fail.
Ephesians 3:20
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
God can do much, much more than we can ever ask or think. Some people refer to Him as Jehovah “overdo”. He does exceedingly more than we expect. His love for us remains forever, no matter what happens. Even, when we disobey Him, His anger does not last forever, He finds a way of drawing us back to His love.
God has plan for our welfare
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
God has excellent plans for each one of us. He loves us so much that He wants the best for us. Even when things go wrong in our lives because we make wrong choices, he finds a way of bringing us back ro Him original plan for our lives.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
Just as explained earlier on, God is able to put together all the good and bad experiences in our lives in a way that will eventually profit or benefit us. He will not let us fall because He loves us so much.
Think about the words of this song!
Behold what manner of love
The lord has given unto us
Behold what manner of love
The savior has given unto us
That we should be called the children of God
God has unlimited love He wants to shower on us.
Revelations 3:2
Look, I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends (New Living Translation).
God wants to have fellowship with you. He wants to relate to you as a friend. To dine together and relate closely each day because He loves and cares for you.
What you need to do is to accept the gift of salvation and invite Him to live your heart.
