Better days ahead
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former days, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace saith the Lord of hosts.
A similar message is given in Jeremiah 30:18. The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the lord of hosts. The later glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts.
Matthew 6:31-32 reads therefore take no thought, saying what shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or where withal shall we be clothed? ( for all these things do Gentiles seek seek(unbelievers) for your heavenly father knoweth that ye have need of all these things).
There is a song that encourages me so much, these are the words.
When you cry, be sure to dry your eyes
Cause better days are sure to come
And when you smile, be sure to smile wild
And don’t let them know that they have won
And when you walk, walk with pride
And don’t show the hurt inside
Because the pain will soon be gone
And when you dream, dream big
As big as the ocean, blue
Cause when you dream, it might come true
But when you dream, dream big.
This song does not fully comply with biblical principles. For example the bible does not direct us to hoot at our enemies (don’t let them know that you have won). Infact the bible specifically warns us to be:
Be sober, vigilant knowing that your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he, may devour (1 Peter 5:8)
However, the bible does encourages us to dream big.
Now unto Him, who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think- — – – – – – – (Ephesians 3:20)
In short, what I am trying to say is that, do not let the troubles of today, discourage you and allow you to think of a bleak future. There are better days ahead as the verse from Haggai 2:9 and Jeremiah 30:18 says.
The silver and gold belongs to God. All power and wisdom also belong to God. There is nothing that will stop Him from giving you better days.
This is because:
- His promises are true
Numbers 23:19
2 Corinthians 1:20
- He is faithful
Isaiah 55:11
1 Thessalonians 5:24
Matthew 6:31-32
- You are precious to him
Isaiah 53:3-5
John 3:16
His promises are true
Numbers 23:19
God is not a man that He should lie: Neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he say, and shall He not do it? Or hath he spoken and shall he not make it good?
This verse means that every promise God has given in his word is true and available to us once we fulfill the conditions attached. For instance, Joshua 1 says, if you meditate on the word day and night and obey all it says then you will prosper and have good success.
When you fulfill the condition of meditation and obeying |His words, God will cause you to prosper and have good success. Once he has promised, he will do it. His word is true.
His word says in Haggai 2:9 that the glory of the latter days will be greater than that of the former days. He has said it and it shall be. There are better days ahead.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the taught that I think towards you says the Lord, taught of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
This verse says God has good plays for our future, meaning there are better days ahead. Therefore, we need not to discourage about our present circumstances.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
According to the verse above, every promise of God in the bible is available to all Christians. There is nothing like, you have enjoyed too many promises already and you cannot have anymore. Once you need it, you can claim it in Jesus name. There are better days ahead of we stand firmly on the promises of God.
He is faithful
Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it. God will always ensure that what he says will come to pass. For example in the creation story from Genesis 1 to Genesis 2 whatever God said came into being. In the same way when you confess the word of God concerning your situation, you invoke the power of God into action.
Matthew 6:31-32
Therefore, take no taught saying what shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or where withal shall we be clothed (for after all these things do the Gentiles see) for your heavenly father knoweth that ye have need for these things. The passage above says, God already knows what we need. There is no need to fret or worry about what we need. God will provide it when we need it.
Psalm 23:1
The lord is your Shepherd, you gave everything you need. Do not waste your time making elaborate plans that will not work.
By all means do some work to earn a living (the bible says, the hands that do not work, must not eat 2 Thess. 3:10). But do not worry about what your salary cannot get you. God will provide. Jesus fed 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 pieces of fish. He has the power to multiply what you have to meet your needs. (Matthew 14:1-23)
1 Thessalonians 5:24
Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.
God is faithful and he will ensure that the days ahead of you are better than the present as he has promised in his word. (Haggai 2:9)
You are precious to Him
Isaiah 53:3-5
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows and acquitted with grief; and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
Surely He hath borne our griefs and camed our sorrows. Yet we did not esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquities the chastisment of our peace was upon him; and with his strips we are healed.
Jesus went through so much pain and torture for the establishment of our salvation because, the soul of every single Human is important to Him. We are precious to God.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
God gave His best, just to save you and I. this confirms that we are precious to God and he has plans for our welfare. There are better days ahead keep praying and trusting God.
