Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound? [September 18, 2024 ]
Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound? [September 18, 2024 ]
Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound?
Psalm 119:11
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
The phrase ” Thy word have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against thee” implies that we should not abuse the grace of God upon our lives.
The fact that God has promised to forgive us when we sin, is not a license to live any how. After all God has promised to forgive us when we repent.
In the verse above, the Psalmist says, one way he knows that can prevent him from abusing the grace of God upon his life is to hide God’s word in his heart
Hiding the word of God in your heart means studying the word of God thoroughly so that at every point in your life you can seek direction from the word.
Scripture also says in Joshua 1:8 that
If you meditate day and night on the word of God and obey all it says you will prosper and have good success
Because it will prevent you from abusing the grace of God upon your life
Romans 6:1-2
What shall we say then ?
Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein
This passage from the new testament confirms that it is unacceptable to live anyhow after you have been saved.
Accepting the gift of salvation is also a promise to abstain from sin by the grace of God.
Let’s strive to please God in all we do
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust in God and do what is right
Song for meditation
Let this song be your confession and prayer
Do you know why Jesus has not come back
Its because He’s given you another chance
He sits in heaven and pleads for us all
He said look at the cross
The blood that I shed
For the remission of sin for man
I died for them all
Give them another chance
This is the way Jesus pleads for us all
Chorus in French
Il dit, voici le croix
Ma sang qui sauver le monde
J’ai mort pour tous le monde
Donnez le monde autre chance
Amen
