Let my life be consecrated to thee!!
Ecclesiastes 12:13
This is the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear God and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man.
As Christians we are called to a life of consecration. This means living a life surrendered to God and seeking to do His will each day.
The verse above tries to summarize what a life consecrated to God involves. What we are required to do is to fear God, that is have respect and reverence for God such that we willing obey His commands.
Micah 6:8 also says
He has shown you, O mortal what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with the Lord.
Dear student, worker and ambassador of Christ your commitment to God should reflect in the way you study, work and witness for Christ. As the verse from Micah says
– You should be just and merciful in the way you study. Do not cheat in examinations and help those who are struggling with their studies
– As a worker you should be fair and just in your dealings with your co-workers. Do not bear false witness against your neighbor in order to take his or her position. And share your knowledge with others
– As an ambassador of Christ be fair, just and merciful. Do not judge others or condemn them as unfit to be saved. Have compassion on lost souls
God be with you
Suggestions for success
1. Ask God to help you to be fair, just and merciful in all your dealings.
Prayer
Meditate on the words of this Methodist hymn
Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my will
It is thine own
It shall no longer be mine
Take my heart, it is thy own
Let it be thy Royal throne
Amen.
