Prepare for the coming of the Lord
Amos 4:12
Therefore this will I do unto thee, Oh Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God , Oh Israel.

There are several verses in both the old and new testament of the bible that talk about the second coming of Jesus. It is the next great event on the christian calendar.

However, because thousands of years have passed since these prophecies were made, some think:
-the prophets lied
– God is just putting fear in us so we will live a righteous life.

I think both assertions are false. Check from bible scholars how long it took for the prophecy of the birth of Christ to be fulfilled.

God cannot lie, therefore, let us prepare for the coming of the Lord by;
-keeping our faith, and winning souls
– praying and studying the word without ceasing
– walking or living uprightly- being righteous.

Matthew 24:42-43
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the Goodman of the house hath known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

It is important to live righteously consistently because nobody knows when Jesus will come.

If you live righteously for forty years and stop. You will not gain anything for the forty years you did the will of God. Furthermore, Jesus might come as soon as you stop and all your efforts will be wasted.

Keep on serving God faithfully till your dying day.
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray and ask God to give you the grace and strength to work faithfully for Him and live a righteous life always.

Dear Lord, thank you for gift of another week. Help me live and work for you always.
